    Job Overview:

    The Maintenance Supervisor oversees all maintenance activities within a cleanroom laundry facility, ensuring equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe operations. This role is responsible for leading maintenance technicians, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting equipment failures, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, experience in regulated or controlled environments, and the ability to work hands-on while managing daily operations.

    Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

    Maintenance & Operations

    + Supervise daily maintenance activities for cleanroom laundry production equipment, washers, dryers, folders, vacuum systems, boilers, air compressors, conveyors, and HVAC/cleanroom systems.

    + Perform advanced troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems to minimize downtime.

    + Ensure proper functioning of cleanroom environmental controls, including HEPA filtration, pressure differentials, and air handling units.

    + Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and maintain compliance with quality standards.

    + Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and coordinate with vendors for repairs, parts procurement, and service contracts.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Compliance & Safety

    + Ensure equipment and processes meet ISO cleanroom standards, GMP requirements, and customer-driven specifications.

    + Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, calibrations, inspections, and repair logs.

    + Enforce facility safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA compliance.

    + Participate in internal and external audits as the maintenance subject-matter expert.

    Leadership & Management:

    + Lead, train, and schedule maintenance technicians to support 24/7 or multi-shift operations.

    + Coordinate with operations, quality, and engineering departments to support production needs.

    + Develop maintenance KPIs such as uptime, PM completion rate, and response time; implement improvements based on performance metrics.

    + Recommend and manage capital improvements or equipment upgrades.

    Qualifications** **Required:

    + 3–5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance; at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

    + Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting, PLC basics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, and instrumentation.

    + Experience in controlled environments (cleanroom, GMP, healthcare laundry, semiconductor, pharma, etc.).

    + Ability to read technical manuals, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and equipment schematics.

    + Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.

    Preferred

    + Experience with cleanroom HVAC, differential pressure systems, and filtration technologies.

    + Experience with pumps, RODI (Reverse Osmosis/Deionization) water systems, and low-voltage control systems.

    + Knowledge of ISO classifications, contamination control, and cleanroom protocols.

    + Boiler operator license or experience.

    Education:

    **•** High School Diploma.

    Working Environment/Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements:

    Physical Requirements

    + Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.

    + Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

    + Work in laundry production areas where gowning may be required and heat, humidity, or noise may be present.

    • Compensation:

     

    The salary rate that Vestis reasonably expects to pay for this position ranges from $60,900 to $91,200, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission.
