Description
The Morningside Center for Innovative and Affordable Medicine is an interdisciplinary unit within the Woodruff Health Sciences Center at Emory University consisting of a core group of staff and affiliated faculty at Emory. The Center was created to promote research, education, and advocacy for effective and affordable medical treatments with an initial focus on repurposed drugs and cancer. The Program Manager will report to the Morningside Center Director and will work closely with the Clinical Director. The candidate manages daily operations for all aspects of the Morningside Center.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Plans, administers, and monitors project budgets.
+ Participates in the identification of funding sources for specific projects.
+ Consults with or participates in calls with subject matter experts to plan the growth, evaluation, and future directions for the Center.
+ Cultivates and forms strategic alliances both inside and outside Emory University with individual consultants or institutions.
+ Manages the ReMedy-Cancer database to ensure that data is accurate, updated, and accessible.
+ Assists with the development of internal grant RFPs and oversees peer review and reporting processes, including the design and upkeep of an online tool.
+ Prepares communication documents for articles, reports, and/or presentations for key program stakeholders.
+ Provides leadership regarding clinical research development and works with stakeholders to proactively identify opportunities to adjust processes for efficiencies.
+ Coordinates contract development, including contracts that do not have a traditional pathway.
+ Develops short- and long-term program goals and objectives and oversees progress toward achieving project goals.
+ Serves as a liaison with other university departments and represents projects at meetings and events.
+ Manages the Morningside website as well as ideas to increase Morningside visibility through use of social media.
+ Develops and prepares reports for funding agencies.
+ Assists in all aspects of planning and implementation of conferences related to Morningside interests.
+ May hire, supervise and evaluate staff.
+ Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A bachelor's degree in business or related field.
+ Five years of professional experience in a related field such as business administration, research, or information systems management.
+ Program or project management experience strongly preferred.
NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
