**Title:** Field Service Technician
**Location:** Danvers, MA
**Duration:** 5 months
**Pay Rate:** $28.96 – $31.54/hour
Overview
+ Abiomed, an innovative medical device company, is focused on recovering hearts and saving lives.
+ This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong electro-mechanical maintenance experience to work on a console that is directly responsible for critical patient monitoring.
+ Will be responsible for providing preventative and corrective maintenance on Abiomed electro-mechanical products received into the Danvers-based Service Depot
+ Will also provide basic telephone support to Abiomed’s customers and Abiomed’s field-based Sales, Marketing and Clinical Teams.
+ Will also assist the Engineering/Quality SPR Teams with complaint follow-up, investigation and closeout as required.
Responsibilities
+ Conducts preventative and corrective maintenance of electro-mechanical life support consoles
+ Maintains calibration standards as required for all test equipment used in the process of servicing
+ Provide internally based service as required to Abiomed’s pool of service loaners and marketing console
+ Provides basic telephone support to Abiomed’s customers, and Abiomed’s field-based Sales, Clinical and Marketing teams
+ Ensure an adequate level of service inventory is available to meet day-to-day service needs
+ Provides rotating 24/7 rotating on call service support coverage for customers and Abiomed’s field teams
+ Support manufacturing as required with testing and burn in of spare parts
+ Assist Engineering with Complaint Follow Up, including evaluation, testing, investigation and closeout
+ Document neatly and accurately all services performed
+ Communicate issues in a timely manner to manager and Admin team as required
+ Does comprehensive review of service history for each console prior to servicing
+ Ensures compliance to Regulatory standards, able to follow established SOPs, processes and procedures
+ Team player able to adapt and execute on individual and Team goals
Required Qualifications
+ High school diploma required.
+ AS/BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred or equivalent experience
+ Ability to adapt and execute to changing workload environment
+ Detail-oriented individual, focused on quality
+ Ability to follow written and verbal SOPs, and document work
+ Ability to lift and move up to 70 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Minimum of 3+ years of experience servicing and supporting electro-mechanical devices or consoles, or scientific instruments
+ Medical device experience strongly preferred
+ Working knowledge of SAP and Salesforce
+ Familiarity with general regulatory guidelines as it pertains to the servicing of medical devices
+ Manufacturing experience

+ Onsite / Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 5:00pm
+ Valid US Driver's license required
