    Job Title: Maintenance Planner** **Job Description

     

    The Maintenance Purchaser and Scheduler plays a vital role in coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring the availability of necessary parts and materials. This position involves creating work orders, developing and updating preventative maintenance schedules, ordering and preparing parts, and prioritizing tasks based on downtime and urgency. The role also manages consumable and critical spare inventories and serves as a liaison between maintenance and purchasing. Additionally, the position requires participation in performing preventative maintenance and work orders to stay familiar with factory operations and maintain an expanding list of PMs for new equipment. A strong understanding of maintenance shop environments, related parts, and safe work practices is essential.

    Responsibilities

    + Work safely and promote a safe work environment.

    + Adhere to all company policies, GMPs, and SOPs.

    + Proficiently use computer applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

    + Familiarity with basic maintenance parts such as bearings, chains, sprockets, motors, and gearboxes.

    + Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and department managers.

    + Communicate effectively with vendors and contractors.

    + Schedule maintenance contractors and be available upon their arrival.

    + Source parts, including researching, ordering, and distribution.

    + Multitask and switch priorities with limited notice.

    + Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to schedule and develop routine and preventative maintenance schedules.

    + Operate forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, and other material handling equipment (training provided on site).

    + Assign work orders and stage materials needed for work orders.

    + Maintain an accurate inventory control system, ensuring detail-oriented and organized management.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient in planning, schedule planning, purchasing, and inventory management.

    + High School Diploma or GED required. Some college coursework preferred.

    + 2+ years of administrative experience.

    + Experience in a production/manufacturing environment preferred.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

    + Strong problem-solving and diagnosis skills.

    + Basic math skills.

    + Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

    + Availability and willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

    + Ability to work cross-departmentally.

    Work Environment

    The work environment may involve exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and a loud setting. There may be proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical currents. The employee must be able to work in an environment containing allergens such as nuts, milk, and wheat. The role requires standing or walking for prolonged periods, occasional use of hands and fingers, and frequent talking or hearing. The job may involve tasting and smelling, and lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles may occur.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boring, OR.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
