Job Title: Manual Machinist** **Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist who is proficient in operating manual machines to machine foundry-related tooling and components from provided drawings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for polishing machined tooling to specified requirements, assembling machine components, and maintaining a clean workspace.

Responsibilities

+ Operate manual machines to machine plates including aluminum, iron, and steel.

+ Machine pins to close tolerance.

+ Drill, tap, and mill tooling as required.

+ Receive machined tooling and polish to required specifications.

+ Assemble machine components per provided drawings.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to operate air-powered tools such as die grinders and sanders.

+ Experience working from basic drawings and sketches.

+ Basic knowledge and use of manual machine shop equipment and machining tools like micrometers and calipers.

+ Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with blueprint reading.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Flexibility to stand for approximately 70% of an 8-hour shift.

+ Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift parts as needed.

+ Possession of basic personal tools; advanced tools will be provided as necessary.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of TRUSSVILLE, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
