    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic in Valdosta, GA

    Job Description

    As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing production machinery, auxiliary equipment, and packaging automation. You will handle building maintenance, power supply wiring, and conduit installations for machines and plant systems. Troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues will also be part of your role.

     

    **Shift:** 2-2-3 Overnight 6:45pm to 7am

    **Pay:** 28-38/hr dependent on experience

    Responsibilities

    + Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machines and plant systems.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical problems.

    + Perform repairs and test equipment for operational efficiency.

    + Order necessary parts and equipment for projects.

    + Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

    + Install, program, or repair electrical apparatus and components.

    + Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.

    + Maintain and repair the physical structure of the establishment.

    + Enter and follow up on work orders in the PEM system.

    + Perform maintenance on Husky Machines.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

    + Experience with preventative maintenance and industrial maintenance.

    + Strong understanding of schematics, hand tools, PLC troubleshooting, and automation.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical/hydraulic diagrams.

    + Experience with high voltage electrical systems.

    + 3+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

    + Proficiency in PLC programming and maintenance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or GED required.

    + Previous experience in a manufacturing environment maintaining automated equipment preferred.

    + Ability to effectively communicate instructions and information.

    + Strong mathematical skills with the ability to perform basic arithmetic.

    + Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

    + Ability to safely operate a forklift and work at heights.

    + Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to alarms and warnings.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in a manufacturing plant and requires night shifts from 6:45 pm to 7:00 am. The role involves standing, bending, stooping, and twisting, with the necessity to work overhead and in various positions frequently. Safety equipment is provided, and a strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $79040.00/yr.
