Job Title: Grit Blasting Technician** **Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Grit Blasting Technician with experience in power tools and abrasive materials. The role involves inspecting parts, managing inventories, performing grit blasting, and supporting operators in equipment setup and maintenance.
Responsibilities
+ Inspect serial numbers and part condition to verify acceptability.
+ Interpret inspection documentation and react according to established procedures.
+ Track and manage tooling and consumable inventories.
+ Perform liquid and tape masking on components using various tools to maintain coating allowances.
+ Conduct manual and robotic pre-process grit blasting for thermal spray on components as per specifications.
+ Utilize precision measuring equipment to check work and record in electronic database.
+ Perform in-process inspection of own work and others' work before part movement to next operation.
+ Operate controls on atmospheric and vacuum furnaces under direct supervision, load and unload own work.
+ Assist operators in equipment setup and maintenance of tooling.
+ Operate small cranes and forklifts to move equipment, parts, and material.
+ Enter and confirm required quality documentation.
+ Report and monitor abnormal production time per production step.
+ Independently carry out technician work and correct non-conforming hardware during reconditioning.
+ Train entry-level technicians for coating prep, braze, and heat treatment.
+ Set up and install brazing equipment according to process requirements.
+ Execute brazing requirements on gas turbine components as per technical specifications.
+ Participate in the design and fabrication of brazing tools and fixtures.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with power tools like die grinders, right angle grinders, and belt sanders.
+ Experience with grinding, polishing, and finishing techniques.
+ Knowledge of abrasive materials such as wheels, belts, and discs.
+ 2+ years of manufacturing experience in grinding, blending coatings, coatings application, coatings removal, blasting, heat treat, machining or welding.
+ 2+ years of experience with interpretation of technical drawings or work instructions.
+ 2+ years of experience in a production or maintenance environment.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
+ Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, timekeeping applications, and folder structures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
+ Experience with manufacturing, assembly, auto body repairs, fiberglass, woodworking, painting, and spray booth operation.

Work Environment
Work in a clean and organized manufacturing facility with AC in a warehouse environment. The position operates on a 1st shift from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and a 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM. Safety shoes rated by ASTM F 2413-05 or ANSI Z41-1999 are required, providing impact/compression, electrical hazard, and static dissipative protection.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jupiter, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
