    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team where you'll be responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture medical device parts. You'll start with a week-long training class on industrial sewing machines, followed by hands-on experience on the production floor with a mentor. Your role includes setting up sewing machines with the correct thread, increasing production count to expected output levels within 13 weeks, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and ensuring products meet quality standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate industrial sewing machines to manufacture medical device parts.

    + Participate in a week-long training class on industrial sewing machines.

    + Work on the production floor with a mentor to learn the production process.

    + Set up sewing machines with the correct thread.

    + Increase production count to expected output levels within 13 weeks.

    + Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

    + Sit for extended periods to operate sewing machines.

    + Seek assistance or call maintenance if an issue arises with the sewing machine.

    + Ensure products meet quality standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Attention to detail.

    + Ability to meet production goals.

    + Experience or ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.

    + Sewing and industrial sewing skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with GMP and medical device production is a plus.

    + No acrylic/permanent nails.

    + No jewelry, except wedding bands without stones.

    + Permanent piercings must be covered by a mask.

    + No lotions or creams on the production floor.

    + Use of a clear plastic bottle with a lock (approved or available for purchase).

    Work Environment

     

    The company operates as a contract manufacturing medical device firm, experiencing significant growth with a diverse workforce. The production floor, consisting of 75% industrial sewing machines, adheres to GMP standards requiring hair nets and beard nets. While not climate-controlled, fans are provided at each sewing station to combat summer heat. The environment supports employees who may not be fluent in English, offering assistance through translation technology. Flexible shifts are available: 1st Shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with voluntary early starts and Saturday hours available; 2nd Shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with similar voluntary options.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
