Job Title: Buyer

Job Description

The Buyer (Purchasing Coordinator) plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services essential to production and operations. Working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and finance teams, this role ensures purchasing activities are executed with precision, efficiency, and alignment to organizational goals. The Buyer is expected to be highly detail-oriented, technically proficient in ERP systems, and capable of managing supplier relationships to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

+ Convert purchase requests into accurate purchase orders using ERP systems.

+ Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements and translate them into RFQs and POs.

+ Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to optimize value and reduce costs.

+ Manage supplier relationships under the guidance of Category Managers to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance.

+ Resolve procurement issues across the order lifecycle, including invoice discrepancies, delivery delays, and quality concerns.

+ Support strategic sourcing initiatives to improve procurement processes and drive efficiency.

+ Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

+ Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain management principles.

+ Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or Netsuite.

+ Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

+ Strong negotiation and communication skills.

+ Ability to create and manage purchase orders and invoices with accuracy.

+ Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in strategic sourcing and process improvement initiatives.

+ Proven ability to resolve procurement issues quickly and effectively.

+ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

+ Ability to work independently while contributing to cross-functional teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Long Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
