    Who will you be working with?

     

    The mission of the Fleet Innovation & Transformation team is to accelerate fleet transformation by consistently providing compelling solutions and innovative technologies that improve reliability, sustainability, and performance of customer’s locomotives. In this role, you will collaborate directly with our customers in addition to cross-functional teams across commercial, engineering, and our business teams to drive the locomotive modernization product strategy and execution.

     

    How will you make a difference?

     

    The Director, Product Management - Locomotive Modernizations will be responsible for leading, defining, and executing the comprehensive vision and product strategy for the locomotive modernization portfolio including a focus on product configuration, price, and cost. Your leadership will directly impact business growth, customer outcomes, and market competitiveness to shape the future of the product line. Key deliverables and metrics include profitable growth (including orders, revenue, and margin), design for manufacturability/serviceability (including standardization and total cost of ownership), and design for differentiated performance (including new product introductions, lead time, reliability, haulage, fuel economy, and automation vitality).

     

    What do we want to know about you?

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution

    + Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, Commercial, Program Management, or Fleet Management/Reliability in the Railroad Industry.

    + Experience in dealing effectively with customers at senior and technical levels

    + Strong technical knowledge of Wabtec’s locomotive technology

    + Demonstrated commercial intensity with a relentless drive to win and grow the product line

    + Willingness to travel ~25% of the time

    Desired Characteristics:

    + Master's in Business Administration or related discipline

    + Experience leading multi-year technology investment programs

    + Experience leading customer/industry engagements

    + Strong oral and written communication skills

    + Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to influence across a matrixed organization

    + Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills

    + Financial acumen and experience with business tracking systems

     

    What will your typical day look like?

     

    + Lead and execute product strategy, growth initiatives, and multi-generation product plans via cross-functional collaboration with customers and Wabtec’s commercial, engineering, supply chain, and business teams

    + Engage with customers to create meaningful stakeholder relationships – closely partner to create win-win outcomes

    + Coordinate and build strong working relations in a matrix organization including engineering, supply chain, sales, finance, and service

    + Conduct market assessment and define segmentation and positioning strategies

    + Analyze competitive landscape and develop pricing and value proposition

    + Partner closely with Wabtec’s expanded Product Management Teams to introduce new products onto the modernization platform

    + Present deal reviews and strategic updates to leadership

    + Support sales teams with customer engagement and selling strategies

    + Monitor performance metrics and recommend improvements

    + Lead special projects to enhance product development and go-to-market strategy

    Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $117900-168000 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
