    Job Description

    **AECOM** is seeking a motivated, technically-experienced team leader to serve as **Senior Electrical Enginee** r based in **Minneapolis, MN** . This role is responsible for engineering design and modification activities related to electrical & electronic circuits, systems, and equipment in the built environment.

    Lead the electrical design and coordination of complex building projects across sectors such as commercial, civic, education, and healthcare. You’ll be responsible for developing power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems from concept through construction, ensuring integration with architectural and other engineering disciplines. This role includes client-facing responsibilities, mentoring junior staff, performing quality control, and collaborating closely with construction teams to ensure design intent is maintained through build-out. Your expertise will drive innovation, code compliance, and energy-efficient solutions in every phase.

    + Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.

    + Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods and represents the organization in conferences.

    + Resolves important questions and plans and coordinates work.

    + Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines.

    + The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work usually result from progressive experience.

    + Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.

    + Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments.

    + This position will involve working with a multidisciplinary team who work together to conceive, permit, design and provide construction administration support for small and large projects.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    + Designs power distribution systems, microgrids, lighting systems, etc.

    + Performs Construction Administration services, including review of shop drawings, RFI’s and review of contractor proposed change orders

    + Evaluates feasibility of alternative design approaches in conjunction with senior team members

    + Performs site/ field visits to ascertain existing conditions including equipment condition evaluations

    + Organizes/plans projects to ensure quality controls and project criteria are met and within budget

    + Assists in preparing proposals and presenting to Clients

    + Acts as a Deputy Project Manager assisting with workload planning

    + Assists with mentoring of junior staff within the Electrical Department

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field + 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educatio **n**

    + PE

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Proficient in SKM and electrical analysis software

    + 8+ years of electrical systems design experience

    + Proficiency using AutoCAD and Revit

    + Ability to interact with others on a multi-discipline team

    + Ability to work on multiple projects at once

    + Good time management skills, a strong work ethic and attention to detail

    + People management experience a plus

    + NCEES Record

    + Excellent Communications Skills with the ability to present designs to clients

    + Additional Industry Certifications such as LEED AP or CEM

    Additional Information

    + This position will not offer sponsorship now or in the future.

     

    Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $120000 to $150000.
