Job Summary

Geisinger Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Infectious Disease provider to join our expanding in the Western Region at State College, PA. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of infectious disease. Job Duties

Job Responsibilities

+ Diagnose and manage infectious diseases of all types and in all organ systems, including conditions requiring the selective use of antibiotics.

+ Interview patients to obtain comprehensive information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories.

+ Perform and interpret diagnostic tests as clinically indicated.

+ Design and implement treatment plans for injuries and/or illnesses; prescribe or administer medications as appropriate.

+ Prepare, maintain, and review patient records, including histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and outcomes.

+ Care for patients with AIDS, unexplained fevers, and those requiring preventive medicine or travel-related health expertise.

Work Schedule & Environment

+ Primarily inpatient care with 1–2 clinical days per week.

+ Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment.

Qualifications

+ Board certified or board eligible in Infectious Disease.

+ Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

+ Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution

+ Completion of residency and fellowship in Infectious Disease

+ Valid and unrestricted medical license

+ Prior experience managing complex infectious disease cases is preferred

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
