    Role Summary

    The Director, Product Management, owns the long-term strategy and performance of the digital products and experiences for their product group at Alaska Air Group. This role will focus on reducing friction at every guest touchpoint, increasing self-service, connecting guests with employees seamlessly throughout their journey to create a blended digital and physical experience. As a people leader, this role establishes strategic goals and direction for a team of leaders to drive ‘ease’ and ‘joy’ in the guest digital experience and improve guest satisfaction.

    Key Duties

    Defines the overall Digital experience Vision and Product Road Maps

    + Defines the vision and product road maps for key sections of Alaska's guest digital offerings in the Loyalty space.

    + Crafts the digital product strategies based on data, including transactional data, usage statistics, primary customer research, and industry analyst reports.

    + Stays current with travel and other relevant industry trends and how they apply to Alaska.

    + Ensures a good and continuous understanding of competitor capabilities and how Alaska competes.

    + Communicate and get buy-in into vision and road map by key stakeholders throughout the company, including senior executives.

    Guides the Digital Products Through Delivery

    + Leads the execution of the roadmaps in partnership with world-class engineering and user experience design teams.

    + Creates key product metrics and goals and delivers against them, identifying a plan to deliver those objectives with feature improvement ideas.

    + Ensures team delivers the right quantity and quality of product inputs (e.g. stories, timely tradeoff decisions) into the technology team for delivery.

    + Provides decision support to product management team and helps them navigate communication with senior colleagues when necessary.

    + Makes key tradeoff decisions when required, smartly using data when it exists and solid judgement when it doesn't.

    + Engages in constructive debate with - and delivers tough messages when needed to key stakeholders (including senior executives) while maintaining professional and productive relationships.

    + Selects and manages key vendors as needed.

    + Significantly shapes the product discovery and definition process.

    + Incorporates lean concepts in our product management thinking and processes to increase team agility.

    + Leads the way in incorporating more/better data into our product discovery and definition processes.

    + Attracts and retains a talented and results-focused team while using sound strategies for improving poor performance.

    Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    Required

    + 8 years of experience in product management.

    + 5 years of leadership experience, with at least 2 of those years directly leading people.

    + Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business, computer science or related field, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

    + Demonstrated history of defining a product management process.

    + Fluent in agile product development concepts from the product management point of view.

    + Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly and drive focus and excellence with a strong, talented, opinionated team.

    + Demonstrated history of delivering results in improving guest experience.

    + Expert in using customer research, web analytics, financial and other data to prioritize plans.

    + Demonstrated ability to manage products that span from digital to physical environments (such as retail BOPIS).

    + Highly organized with keen attention to detail.

    + Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

    + Comfortable with ambiguity and passionate about change.

    + High school diploma or equivalent is required.

    + Minimum age of 18.

    + Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    Preferred

    + MBA or equivalent work experience is preferred.

    + Significant experience working on large B2C businesses that span digital and physical environments.

    + Knowledge of the airline and/or travel industries and related technologies.

    + Deep working knowledge of lean concepts.

    + Experience negotiating and/or managing vendors where spend exceeds $100K/year.

    Salary Range

    $190,500 - $295,300 / year

    Total Target Compensation Range (incl. bonus & equity)

     

    $247,650 - $383,890

    Salary Details

    The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

     

    **Note:** We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
