**UW MEDICAL CENTER - NORTHWEST - HOSPITAL SECURITY** has an outstanding opportunity to hire a **HOSPITAL SECURITY SERGEANT** .
WORK SCHEDULE
+ Full-time, 100% FTE, Variable/Night Shift
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
+ The Hospital Security Sergeant provides leadership with assistance and problem resolution for patients, staff, and visitors
+ Ensure a safe, secure environment in a way that promotes the healing and teaching mission of UW Medical Center - Northwest
+ The candidate will possess superior customer service skills, offering support and understanding in dealing with patients, staff, faculty and visitors to the medical center
+ Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
+ The Northwest Security team has a crucial role in maintaining a positive, caregiving and welcoming environment at the Northwest campus in a manner that is consistent with UW Medicine Patients Are First Service Culture Guidelines
+ Hospital Security Officers provide assistance and effective problem resolution for patients, staff, and visitors throughout the multiple departments of Northwest, in both patient and non-patient areas
+ A dynamic team committed to making continuous improvements, and to protecting and caring for our people and property
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Ensure compliance with select policies and act as liaisons with the nursing supervisor(s), administrative personnel, law enforcement agencies and fire department agencies
+ Directly supervise Hospital Security Officers on all shifts; oversee work schedules and ensure adequate staffing; complete performance evaluations annually for all assigned personnel; and evaluate performance of officers to determine the need for training
+ Able to tactfully confront individuals and gain their trust for authority, de-escalating anger to bring about satisfactory solutions
+ Ability to connect with people
+ Capacity to assess situations, anticipate challenges and resolve conflicts using quick, accurate judgments
+ Possess knowledge and ability to explain circumstances with sensitivity and discretion, mitigating stressful and potentially violent situations
+ Investigate incidents and crimes with the aptitude to complete clear, concise and accurate incident reports and other documentation
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
+ High school graduation or equivalent
+ Possession of a valid driver's license
+ Two years of work experience as a campus police, public safety or security officer, or equivalent
+ No previous felony convictions.
OR
+ Equivalent experience/education may be considered in place of listed qualifications except where legally required.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$33.76 hourly
Pay Range Maximum:
$49.06 hourly
