This role in summary
Responsible for auditing the Master Production Schedule (Heijunka Board) to ensure material is available to support the build and pack schedule. Verify existing Kanban’s for compliance with existing parameters. Communicate with Manufacturing and Planning as necessary to recommend schedule adjustments for finished goods, subassemblies, and/or component parts to avoid disruptions resulting in downtime.
Your responsibilities will include
Review availability of internal materials to help ensure feasibility of Heijunka Board schedule. Identify potential material related shortages and work with Planning and/or Manufacturing to resolve and/or adjust schedule
Communicate with Planning and/or Manufacturing to adjust and address material shortages proactively
Review purchased part and subassembly Kanban health and make recommendations to adjust parameters and/or expedite replenishment and advise Planning and/or Manufacturing on changes needed
Request production schedules as needed where required to help drive availability of sub-assemblies
Assist in managing inventory during phase-in/phase-out transitions to minimize operational disruptions
Perform cycle counting to resolve material related inventory discrepancies as needed
Assist in resolving purchase order receipt delays by coordinating with Receiving and Material Planning
Identifies root cause in material workflows, develops and implements cause counter measures
Aptitude to learn Oracle basic inventory transactions to aid in analysis
Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Mgt., Supply Chain, or related field, or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment with concentration on material flow, production assembly, and/or raw material warehousing and deployment
Working knowledge and understanding of BOM structure
Basic knowledge of Supply Chain Planning concepts and application.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel and Outlook).
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels of the organization.
Lifting of 30 pounds overhead occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Lean concepts such as Pull Planning, Kanban, and Heijunka a plus
