    As the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room (OR) at Weston, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the surgical service departments' operations within the hospital, including but not limited to the Operating Rooms, Pre- and Post-Operative Departments, and Procedural areas.'

     

    As Nurse Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the best possible patient experience in your department. You will oversee daily operations, train fellow caregivers, assist in areas of professional development and drive initiative. Your dedication and tireless efforts will make a difference in the lives of patients, families and visitors every day.

     

    Caregivers in this role are salaried/exempt and work days but their responsibilities are not limited to their scheduled hours. Nurse Managers should be available to work each shift as needed.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.

    + Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.

    + Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.

    + Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.

    + Supervise caregivers and promote development.

    + Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.

    + Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes.

    + Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.

    + Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.

    + Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)

    + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

    + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or through American Red Cross within first year of hire

    + Three years of recent clinical nursing experience **including** at least one year of healthcare management experience

    + High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area

    + Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Two years of progressive leadership experience in an Operating Room Setting

    + Master's Degree in Nursing

    + Prior Operating Room manager experience in a high acuity, complex, OR service line.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination.

    + Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking.

    + Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range.

    + Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

    + Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
