Job Description
What We Want
The Artificial Intelligent (AI), Gaming, and UI/UX development under general supervision, supports game design and visualization projects by creating intuitive and visually engaging user interfaces for AI agents. Develops and implements design solutions that enhance user experience and accessibility in interactive environments.
What You Need to Know
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.
Please Note: This position is contingent upon continued grant/departmental funding and is subject to potential continuation should a business need warrant it.
Essential Duties/Tasks
Deep-learning/AI model training, UI/UX Design, and Game Development
+ Train and test generative AI and reinforcement learning models
+ Design and develop high-fidelity UI mockups for game interfaces
+ Create intuitive and accessible user interface solutions
+ Illustrate design concepts using storyboards, wireframes, and process flows
+ Ensure cohesive integration of UI/UX into overall game design
+ Maintain comprehensive documentation for design projects
User Experience Research and Iteration
+ Gather and evaluate user requirements
+ Collaborate with game designers and developers
+ Consider player feedback to refine UI transitions and animations
+ Conduct usability testing and implement design improvements
+ Develop interactive prototypes and mockups
Technical Design and Tools
+ Utilize design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, and Sketch
+ Create interactive mockups and prototypes
+ Implement UI designs in game development platforms (Unity, Unreal Engine)
+ Research emerging design trends and technologies
+ Maintain technical proficiency in design software and game engines
Accessibility and User-Friendly Design
+ Ensure adherence to accessibility standards
+ Develop user-friendly design practices
+ Implement user-friendly interface solutions
+ Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance user experience
+ Evaluate and improve design accessibility
Research and Professional Development
+ Stay current with game design principles and player experience trends
+ Explore innovative UI/UX solutions
+ Develop professional skills through continuous learning
+ Attend design workshops and conferences
+ Contribute to research and development initiatives
Mentorship and Collaboration
+ Work closely with 2D artists, designers, and engineering teams
+ Provide design guidance and creative input
+ Support team members in achieving design objectives
+ Participate in design reviews and collaborative sessions
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Visualization, Game Design, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ No prior professional experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 1 year experience in UI/UX and Game Development
+ Experience in training deep-learning models
+ Master's degree in Visualization, Game Design, or related field
+ Hands-on Experience in training and testing Generative AI models
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
+ Proficiency in UI/UX design tools
+ Strong communication and problem-solving skills
+ Understanding of game design principles
+ Knowledge of accessibility standards
