Description:
This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts during regular business hours (Monday-Friday). Some weekends may be required.
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic & Work Order Dispatcher is a dual-function role responsible for performing
routine and preventive maintenance on hospital equipment and systems while also managing the
scheduling and dispatching of work orders for the Engineering Department. This position ensures
timely completion of corrective and preventive maintenance (PMs), coordinates work requests, and
supports operational efficiency across the facility.
What you will do:
Maintenance Duties:
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC, lighting, and other building systems according to
established schedules.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used.
Dispatching & Scheduling Duties:
- Receive, prioritize, and assign work orders to appropriate engineering staff.
- Schedule preventive maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate work requests from various departments and communicate status updates.
- Monitor CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for open work orders and follow
up as needed.
- Generate reports on work order completion, PM compliance, and backlog.
**Qualifications** :
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in maintenance or facilities operations.
- Experience with CMMS systems and scheduling workflows.
Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Standing and walking for extended periods.
