Diesel Mechanic – Field Service (Firetruck Maintenance)

About the Role

**We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic** to join our team in Omaha, NE. This is a **field service position** focused on maintaining and repairing firetrucks and emergency response vehicles. You’ll work independently at customer sites, ensuring these critical vehicles remain in peak operating condition.

Key Responsibilities

+ Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems on firetrucks and emergency vehicles.

+ Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on chassis, pumps, and electrical systems.

+ Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.

+ Complete field service calls, traveling to customer locations as needed.

+ Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.

+ Ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

+ **Experience:** Minimum 2 years as a diesel mechanic (firetruck or heavy-duty vehicle experience preferred).

+ Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.

+ Ability to work independently in a field environment.

+ Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required).

+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

+ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions.

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $92000.00/yr.
