    Job Description

    We are seeking a flexible, dedicated, and professional Medical Assistant to join our team. You will serve patients and visitors by greeting them warmly, updating required information, collecting payments, and providing pertinent information after appointments. Your role is crucial in ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for patients.

    Responsibilities

    + Check-in patients upon arrival, updating demographics, insurance information, and collecting co-pays.

    + Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summaries, and schedule follow-up appointments.

    + Verify patient insurance and contact patients whose insurance is not active.

    + Post patient charges and payments, complete charge and payment reconciliation.

    + Scan and upload documents in the Document Management system.

    + Sort and deliver mail and PA documents received by courier.

    + Maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area.

    + Participate in staff and educational meetings.

    Essential Skills

    + Active BLS certification.

    + Experience in medical assisting, patient care, and phlebotomy.

    + Proficiency in handling multi-line phones and answering calls.

    + Knowledge of EMR and electronic health records.

    + Ability to schedule appointments and verify insurance.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Proficient in grammar, spelling, and verbal communication.

    + Ability to learn and practice medical procedures, policies, and protocols.

    + Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills.

    + Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

    + Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Tampa, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33196.00 - $46883.00/yr.

    Workplace Type

     

    This is a fully onsite position in Tampa,FL.
