Job Title: Distillation TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Distillation Technician to oversee the operation of equipment used in the distillation process. The successful candidate will manage the distillation of target compounds and batches from specified raw materials, while ensuring compliance with GMP and SOPs. You will be responsible for recording data, performing product inspections, and providing samples for quality control testing. Additionally, you will collaborate with team members to implement lean manufacturing practices aimed at reducing waste and improving productivity.
Responsibilities
+ Operate and oversee equipment used for the distillation process.
+ Monitor and adjust production and quality based on analysis.
+ Complete temperature checks and batch records per GMP and SOPs.
+ Perform product inspections and provide samples for quality control testing.
+ Record various data points as required.
+ Use a computer system to input data into the tracking system.
+ Comply with best practices and continuously improve processes.
+ Collaborate with team members to implement lean manufacturing practices.
+ Comply with CGMP regulations in all operations.
+ Assist in laboratory tasks and ensure accurate documentation of processes.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with distillation, purification, compounding, and fractional distillation.
+ Familiarity with steam distillation, batch making, and chemical handling.
+ Basic knowledge of chemistry and chemical engineering.
+ Experience in a manufacturing process and laboratory setting.
+ Comfortable with mixing and blending techniques.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum of a High School degree with solid attention to detail.
+ Ability to learn unique, detail-specific processes.
+ Comfortable using a computer.
+ Previous experience in a GMP environment is preferred.
+ Ability to work different shifts as required.

The role offers an independent work environment requiring smart and efficient handling of various calculations for product specifications. Employees are expected to input information and data into an internal tracking system and manage expensive ingredients. The work setting is manufacturing-oriented, and the usual attire includes jeans and a t-shirt. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belcamp, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
