    Description

    We are seeking an experienced Event Planner to lead and execute a diverse range of client-focused events throughout the Midwest. In this dynamic role, you will drive event strategies from concept through flawless execution, ensuring each event delivers an exceptional attendee experience and measurable business impact. You’ll bring creative ideas, identify top venues, and develop compelling event content, always aligning with our organization’s goals and brand standards.

     

    This position requires extensive interaction with colleagues on the events team, internal partners, and senior management. Your coordination and collaboration skills will help amplify business objectives and strengthen client relationships. This fast-paced role demands strong communication abilities, attention to detail, and accuracy under pressure. Expect long hours and regular travel throughout the region, with occasional travel outside the area. Robust data management skills are also essential.

     

    The Event Planner reports to the Midwest Regional Events Lead.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Develop event strategies and experiences that support business goals and enhance client relationships

    + Design and deliver high-touch, engaging events in line with our brand standards

    + Oversee all event logistics, including budgeting, vendor negotiations, invoice processing, event collateral production, and on-site support

    + Manage vendor relationships, from identifying venues to contracting audio visual providers and other partners

    + Leverage event management software for data entry, RSVP tracking, communications, and ROI analysis

    + Host all event communications, including invitations, reminders, and post-event follow-ups

    + Lead on-site event teams, ensuring seamless registration, speaker management, vendor coordination, materials distribution, and flawless presentation execution

    + Complete post-event activities, including thorough data management and creation of event debriefs

    + Participate in team meetings, budget reviews, and partner touchpoints as the strategic event subject-matter expert

    + Collaborate across business units to identify shared resources, consolidate ideas, and optimize event opportunities

    + Monitor market trends and new venues in the Midwest region; assist with special projects as assigned

    Requirements

    Required Skills & Experience:

    + Minimum of 6 years’ experience in event planning or management roles

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); skilled in multiple database platforms

    + Comfortable liaising with senior leadership

    + Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and creative solution skills

    + Effective multi-tasker, excelling under tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities

    + Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

    + Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail

    + Confident communicator across diverse teams and stakeholder groups

    + Willingness to travel approximately 30% and work outside standard business hours as needed

    + Experience in corporate or professional services environments is a plus
