    HR Coordinator

     

    Type: Contract-to-Hire

     

    We are seeking an organized, motivated HR Coordinator to join our team in Johnstown, NY. In this contract-to-hire role, you’ll play a key part in supporting day-to-day HR operations for a manufacturing environment, helping ensure smooth and compliant processes across recruitment, payroll, benefits, and employee relations.

     

    The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced setting with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Process payroll using Paychex Flex and support employee benefits administration, including open enrollment.

    + Manage job postings, screen applicants, and coordinate onboarding for both office and production roles.

    + Address employee questions and concerns with professionalism and discretion, maintaining confidentiality in documentation and terminations.

    + Maintain accurate HR records, navigate insurance portals, and support general HR administrative tasks.

    + Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies by keeping HR documentation current and organized.

    + Build strong relationships with employees to foster a positive and productive workplace.

    + Partner closely with the HR Supervisor to support daily HR operations and address evolving needs.

    + Conduct background checks and verify candidate information throughout the hiring process.

    + Monitor HRIS systems to maintain accurate employee data and reporting.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    + Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources with strong attention to detail.

    + Hands-on experience with payroll and benefits administration.

    + Familiarity with recruitment processes, including screening and onboarding.

    + Working knowledge of HRIS systems; experience with QuickBooks is a plus.

    + Solid understanding of HR compliance and labor laws.

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

    + Ability to manage employee relations matters with tact and diplomacy.
