Senior Finance Manager

About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join a fast-paced, highly collaborative finance organization supporting multiple investment funds and related entities. In this critical role, you will lead entity-level accounting, valuation analysis, and financial reporting. You’ll work closely with fund administrators, auditors, and tax partners to ensure accurate reporting, sound valuations, and high‑quality investor communications. You’ll also contribute to strategic initiatives, including system enhancements, operational improvements, and upgrades to financial platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting, Reporting & Coordination

+ Oversee fund administrators’ preparation of financial statements, capital accounts, and investor allocations.

+ Manage key components of the entity close process, including journal entries, NAV packages, and financial reporting deliverables.

+ Coordinate and review capital calls, distributions, and investor notices to ensure accuracy and compliance.

+ Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for investors and internal stakeholders.

+ Partner with auditors and tax advisors to drive timely audits and regulatory filings.

+ Support consistency and alignment in reporting across funds, upper‑tier entities, and management companies.

Valuation Analysis & Portfolio Metrics

+ Support valuation processes for portfolio companies, including fair value assessments and periodic adjustments.

+ Collaborate with the investment team to analyze portfolio performance metrics and trends.

+ Prepare valuation summaries and materials for quarterly reviews and investor updates.

+ Ensure valuation methodologies adhere to firm policies and relevant accounting standards.

Operational Support

+ Serve as the day‑to‑day contact for fund administrators on accounting and reporting matters.

+ Maintain accurate accounting records, investor information, and compliance documentation.

+ Coordinate reconciliations across funds, upper‑tier partnerships, and management companies.

Special Projects & Systems Enhancements

+ Lead initiatives to enhance process efficiency, system capabilities, and reporting automation.

+ Drive onboarding, workflow improvements, and best practices with fund administrators.

+ Assist with system upgrades, data integration efforts, and enhancements to financial platforms.

+ Contribute to data governance, accuracy initiatives, and the expansion of reporting capabilities.

Required

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 3 years in venture capital or private equity.

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and partnership accounting principles.

+ Experience with entity-level accounting and reporting, including capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations.

+ Proven ability to support valuation processes and interpret portfolio performance data.

+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

+ Exceptional communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

+ CPA certification (or equivalent).

+ Experience working with third-party fund administrators.

+ Knowledge of fund accounting systems and reporting platforms.

+ Experience with system upgrades, process automation, or data integration projects.

+ Familiarity with multi-entity investment structures.
