Description

We are looking for an experienced Logistics Administrator to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a long-term contract position, you will play a vital part in ensuring cost-effective and timely truck transportation solutions while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and third-party carriers.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee truck transportation activities to ensure materials and products are shipped efficiently from origin to destination.

• Negotiate competitive freight rates with third-party carriers and ensure rates are accurately reflected in internal systems.

• Analyze transportation operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements.

• Collaborate with team members to maximize load pairing and backhaul opportunities across product lines.

• Act as a subject matter expert on transportation markets, providing insights and knowledge to stakeholders.

• Monitor carrier performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing corrective actions to maintain service levels.

• Maintain and update freight rate contracts, customer details, and volume estimates within databases and spreadsheets.

• Resolve freight invoice discrepancies to ensure accurate payments to carriers.

• Support overall transportation strategy through relationship management, capacity planning, and shipment execution.

• Manage customer-specific shipping requirements and communicate them effectively to third-party carriers.

Requirements • Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.

• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive freight rates.

• Proficiency in managing data and using spreadsheets and databases for transportation operations.

• Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and carriers effectively.

• Ability to analyze complex operations and identify improvement opportunities.

• Familiarity with monitoring KPIs and applying corrective actions to enhance performance.

• Knowledge of shipping functions, materials handling, and payment processing.

• Willingness to work overtime during busy periods, such as harvest season.
