Description
Our client is a small but rapidly growing construction firm located in Sunnyvale, CA. The team prides itself on delivering high-quality projects to its clients and is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to help support their ongoing expansion.
Position Summary: The Bookkeeper will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations. Working closely with the project management and operations teams, this role will ensure efficient, timely, and accurate financial management using Sage 300 (Timberline).
+ Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
+ Enter, code, and process invoices; track payments and deposits aligned with construction project schedules
+ Process and reconcile payroll and subcontractor payments
+ Maintain accurate records of job costs, project billings, change orders, and retention
+ Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions monthly
+ Generate regular financial reports for management, including cash flow, expense tracking, and job profitability
+ Coordinate with project managers to ensure expenses and billing align with project milestones and contracts
+ Prepare documentation for tax filings and year-end audits as required
+ Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and supporting the implementation of better financial controls and procedures
+ Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements for the construction industry
Requirements
+ Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar accounting role, preferably in construction or project-based environments
+ Strong proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline) is required
+ Solid knowledge of accounting principles and best practices
+ Proficiency with Excel and other MS Office applications
+ Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
+ Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across teams
+ Associate’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
