Senior Valuation Analyst — Venture Capital Fund
About the Role
A leading venture capital investment firm is seeking a Senior Valuation Analyst to join its Finance & Operations team. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented, analytical professional with a deep understanding of valuation, fund operations, and venture capital financial reporting. You’ll play a critical role in quarterly fair value processes, fund accounting support, audit preparation, and investor reporting across a dynamic VC portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Valuations (Quarterly 820 Compliance)
+ Prepare and document quarterly valuation analyses using established VC valuation methodologies
+ Identify and evaluate key assumptions, incorporating company, legal, and market inputs
+ Present valuation findings and methodologies to auditors, valuation committees, and firm Partners
Fund Operations & Financial Reporting
+ Support quarterly close, including review of financial statements and partner statements
+ Assist in preparing quarterly and annual audited financials
+ Review capital call and distribution allocations for accuracy and compliance
+ Manage cash processes, including reconciliation review and capital call planning
+ Mentor and support fund accountants
+ Prepare audit documentation and respond to LP inquiries
+ Participate in ad hoc projects throughout quarterly and annual cycles
Venture Capital Fund Support
+ Review fund and transaction documents to ensure accurate reporting
+ Maintain and enhance valuation models for Level 3 investments
+ Engage with portfolio company management to gather financial and qualitative inputs
+ Review NAV packages and support quarterly financial statement preparation for funds and SPVs
+ Assist with audits, including drafting financial statement notes
+ Calculate and manage capital calls, distributions, waterfalls, and carried interest
+ Assist with tax return preparation and supporting schedules for funds and SPVs
+ Support investor due diligence and develop performance analyses as needed
General Finance, Operations & Compliance
+ Support investor communications and updates through the investor portal
+ Assist with capital call/distribution processes and operational workflows
+ Contribute to preparation for annual meetings and advisory committee meetings
+ Partner with Compliance leadership on documentation, DDQs, process controls, and SEC audit support

Qualifications
+ 3–6+ years of experience in valuation, venture capital, private equity, or transaction advisory
+ Strong understanding of ASC 820, fair value concepts, and valuation methodologies
+ Advanced Excel skills; ability to build and maintain complex financial models
+ Experience with fund accounting and capital account statements preferred
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex analyses to internal and external stakeholders
+ Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
