    THE POSITION

The Department of Transportation is seeking a Real Estate Technician for Indiana County. In this essential position, the chosen candidate will engage in advanced technical tasks, including reaching out to property owners to secure right-of-way for various District projects.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    In this role, you will be responsible for negotiating and acquiring real estate for public use while managing properties for Engineering District 10-0. Your tasks will include obtaining tax maps, deeds, and property owner identification data from county courthouses, as well as verifying ownership and property boundaries in the field to aid in plan development. You will ensure that necessary property owner notification letters and portfolios are prepared and sent, photographs are taken, titles are researched, and offers are made.

     

    Additionally, you will collaborate with your supervisor to discuss affected properties, meet letting schedules, and address complex issues. Your responsibilities will also involve reviewing completed work for compliance with established policies, providing relocation assistance to displaced individuals and businesses, calculating supplemental payments for relocations, and keeping the property manager updated on the status of claims related to demolitions, while assisting with property management tasks as needed.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Indiana. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

    + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907 (before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or

    + One year of technical real estate experience and an associate degree;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Special Requirements:

    + This position requires possession of an active Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
