Smokehouse Operator - 3rd shift

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The individual in this position will be responsible for many functions. Listed are the major functions. Other duties may be assigned at any time throughout employment. Safety/Food safety, Communications, Quality Control, Inspection, Process Control, Documentation and data recording, Yield control. The process in this department controls the critical limits on all of our food safety programs. Persons taking on this position are held accountable for multiple responsibilities.
+ Utilize (position) temperature probes
+ Read and interpret charts
+ Manually control smoke dampers
+ Adjust cook cycles or portions
+ Read and interpret temperature-monitoring equipment
+ Knowledgeable in all aspects of smoking product
+ Knowledge of proper chemical use, safety procedures, and PPE (personal protective equipment)
+ Operating knowledge of the CIP system
+ Maintain yield records, chart recorders
+ Maintain smoke generators (clean and adjust) control chip level
+ Keep department area clean
+ Complete/coordinate loading sequence/data
+ Capable of completing all required reports
+ Capable of manually adjusting oven cycles
+ Capable of programming oven cycles
+ Communicate to MGMT of all safety/operating problems
+ Follow and record cooling guidelines
+ Calculate time differentials on oven cycles
+ Monitor product for consistency
+ Review equipment for proper operation
REQUIREMENTS:
+ Have experience or working knowledge of processing equipment operation, processing specifications, and labeling requirements
+ Comply with all HAACP requirements
+ Must also have basic knowledge of mathematics and calculations relating to the production
+ Good English skills and be able to complete required paperwork (productivity reports and other miscellaneous paperwork)
+ Capable of regularly lifting and /or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 75 lbs.
+ Ability to work on production floor; a wet, cold, hot and loud environment
+ Previous food manufacturing experience a plus

Pay Range
The base pay range for this role is $23.00 USD/Hourly
The listed salary range represents Kayem Foods’ good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire pay ranges.
Ranges are reviewed on a regular basis. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued wage growth. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package and is eligible for an annual wage review. Kayem Foods complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
