About the role
We are seeking a skilled **Java Developer** with strong expertise in modern technologies and domain knowledge in Property & Casualty Insurance. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions that drive innovation, improve performance, and support critical business needs.
In this role, you will:
• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using AWS, SQL, Spring Boot, AngularJS, Java, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new features and enhancements.
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness across systems.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain coding standards and share knowledge with team members.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring in‑person presence several days a week in a client or Cognizant office located in **Charlotte, NC** . What you need to have to be considered
• 6 to 10 years of experience as a Java Developer.
• Expertise in AWS, SQL, Spring Boot, Java, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Experience with AngularJS is a plus.
• Domain experience in Property & Casualty Insurance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work proactively in a hybrid environment.
This will help you stand out
• Proven success in delivering enterprise-level applications using modern frameworks and cloud technologies.
• Experience modernizing applications with Spring Boot and AngularJS.
• Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to optimize application performance and ensure scalability in complex environments.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $64,025 to $94,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
