About the role
As a Mainframe Security Administrator, you will make an impact by safeguarding enterprise mainframe environments and sensitive data. You’ll deliver expert-level security administration across z/OS platforms, ensuring system integrity, compliance, and secure data access. Your work will strengthen security frameworks such as TOP SECRET, ACF2, and RACF, and support geospatial data integration to enable informed decision-making through well-maintained, secure data assets. You will be a valued member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Security team and work collaboratively with the Senior Manager.
In this role, you will:
•Serve as a subject-matter expert in Mainframe Security Administration with TOP SECRET to maintain data security and regulatory compliance.
•Implement and manage ACF2 security controls, including user access and certificate renewals.
•Support RACF administration to protect system resources and prevent unauthorized access.
•Perform z/OS administration tasks to ensure system stability, performance, and reliability.
•Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments; recommend and implement mitigation strategies.
•Develop and maintain documentation for security configurations, standards, and procedures.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to securely integrate geospatial data into enterprise initiatives.
•Build and maintain geospatial databases to support analytics, reporting, and operational insights.
•Mentor junior team members on mainframe security and geospatial best practices.
•Drive continuous improvement and innovation to enhance security posture and data analysis capabilities.

What you need to have to be considered
•6 or more years of proven experience in Mainframe Security Administration, including TOP SECRET, ACF2, and RACF.
•Hands-on experience with z/OS administration.
•Expertise in certificate renewals and access control within mainframe environments.
•Strong understanding of security compliance, audit practices, and risk mitigation.
These will help you stand out
•Experience with geospatial data or databases is an asset.
•Excellent documentation and communication skills.
•Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•Demonstrated commitment to knowledge sharing and team development.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until December 22, 2025.
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000 - $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
