    Description

    Northrop Grumman is looking for a Staff Engineer Software specializing in VxWorks BSPs and RTOS's to develop and maintain the software for our main flight computer and other components of the RQ-4 Global Hawk Unmanned Air Vehicle.

     

    This hybrid position will be located at our Rancho Bernardo, CA location (in San Diego).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, maintain, and integrate legacy SW baselines that run on the VxWorks RTOS .

    • Develop and execute unit tests and functional tests.

    • Full life cycle design, implementation, and feature/automated testing of software

    • Ensure software and integration best practices

    • Work closely with hardware engineers, software architects, and other IPTs/stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and communication.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM degree with 12+ years of embedded software experience, OR Master’s Degree with 10+ years of embedded software, OR Ph.D. with 8+years of embedded software experience

    • Experience with RTOS environments in one or more of the following: RT-Linux, FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or GH Integrity

    • Expertise with C/C++ within an RTOS environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design and hardware/software integration

    • Strong skills in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting embedded systems are essential.

    • Experience and demonstrated ability to lead, manage, mentor a small technical team

    • Experience with hardware validation and verification of RF, digital or mixed signal devices

    • Experience with lab instruments such as logic, spectrum, and network analyzers; and power sources and switches

     

    Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
