    Do you have a strong ability to understand and analyze financial data, legislation, and/or legal documents? Our Office of Financial Management is in need of a Fiscal Consultant III with an emphasis on analytical abilities. This is professional and advanced work in developing, updating, and analyzing financial/rate models and assisting with the property tax levy process and debt management. If selected, you will work on special projects with other departments and exercise independent judgment and discretion for decision-making.

     

    The pay starts between $61,734.40 - $83,366.40 , benefits begin within 60 days of hire, and you can work remotely up to 2 days per week (after completing the 6-month probationary period). Apply today and take the first step toward a lasting and stable career!

    About the Position

    This is professional and advanced work in financial analysis, debt management, revenue forecasting, and special projects with a heavy emphasis on analytical abilities. In this role, you will exercise independent judgment and discretion for decision-making while collaborating with groups and teams to create, analyze, interpret, and report on various fiscal-related projects throughout the county.     + Develop and maintain various data models, including but not limited to rate models, budget models, debt models, and revenue/expenditure models. Also, help coordinate rate model analyses by outside consultants.

    + Work on debt-related tasks for the Office of Financial Management (bonds, bank loans, commercial paper, conduit financings, etc.)

    + Collaborate with financial advisors, bond counsel, Clerk’s office, and rating agencies.

    + Research various topics, provide cost/benefit analyses, develop recommendations/proposals, and write memos to administration &/or BCC.

    + Support other routine analytical-based projects and tasks such as fiscal neutrality reviews, reviews of Community Development District (CDD) applications, economic analysis, monthly revenue reports, etc.

    + Collaborate with the Florida Department of Revenue, Elected Official offices, the Office of the County Attorney, and/or other government agencies.

     

    About the Schedule

    Work Hours:

    + Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

    + Monday - Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. (no weekends!)

    About You

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or other related field, and 6+ years of progressively responsible professional experience.

    + OR: Master's degree in a related field and 5+ years of progressively responsible professional experience.

    + OR: 10+ years of related professional experience or certifications may substitute for the required education. (Please note: CPA license may substitute for 1 year of the required experience.)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.

    + Prior government experience.

    + Florida CPA license.

    Starting Pay Range: $61,734.40 - $83,366.40
