• Referral Specialist - Cardio - McLaren Careers

    McLaren Health Care (Okemos, MI)


    Under general supervision, processes patient referrals to other healthcare practices per provider request. Ensures that patients receive information regarding their referral prior to their scheduled appointment with the external provider. Processes proper insurance authorizations prior to patient’s scheduled appointments.

    Required:

    * High school diploma or equivalent.

    * Must possess knowledge of medical terminology.

    * Experienced with the operation of general office equipment and computers.

    * Must possess excellent interpersonal prioritization and organizational skills

    Preferred:

    * Some college coursework in healthcare related curriculum.

    * Minimum of one year experience with health insurance referrals in a medical office with multiple providers.

    * Experience with Allscripts Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
