Special Education Teacher – Self-Contained Classroom

School Year: 2025–2026

Start Date: 01/31/2026

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hrs/week

Position Overview

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom serving 12 students with high needs, supported by two teaching assistants. The teacher will provide individualized instruction, manage IEP compliance, and collaborate with staff to ensure student success.

Responsibilities

+ Deliver specialized instruction for students with learning disabilities

+ Develop and maintain IEPs and compliance documentation

+ Supervise classroom aides and maintain a safe, structured environment

+ Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators

Requirements

+ Valid Special Education Teaching License (out-of-state accepted with proof of SC reciprocity application)

+ Bachelor’s degree preferred

+ Minimum 1 year teaching experience preferred

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
