Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Boston, MA
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is looking for a skilled Operating Room RN to support a high-performing surgical department. In this position, you’ll take on both circulating and scrubbing responsibilities across a variety of procedures while overseeing patient flow into the operative suite. This role reports directly to the Nurse Manager and works in collaboration with the RN leading the room during each case.
Position Overview
Assignment Length: 13 weeks, with potential to extend
Compensation: $84/hr (Travel package: $3,800 per week)
Start Date: Immediate start available
Schedule:
+ 40 hours per week
+ Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
+ No weekend or holiday shifts
Key Responsibilities
+ Deliver comprehensive perioperative care in alignment with clinical guidelines and facility protocols.
+ Serve as both scrub and circulating nurse for a variety of procedures, including Orthopedic, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery.
+ Support the surgical team by managing instruments, performing counts, and handling essential operative tasks.
+ Coordinate closely with surgeons, anesthesia staff, and fellow RNs to promote patient safety and high-quality surgical outcomes.
+ Document patient care, progress, and procedural details accurately and promptly.
+ Uphold all hospital regulations, including infection prevention and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
+ Active Massachusetts RN license.
+ Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience within a hospital or clinical setting.
+ Prior supervisory or charge experience (6+ months preferred).
+ Current BLS certification; additional credentials may be requested based on surgical service lines.
+ Strong understanding of perioperative practice, surgical equipment, and emergency response protocols.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Experience
+ Background in Urology, Vascular, Orthopedic, and General Surgery cases.
+ Skilled in managing operating suites and supporting emergent surgical situations.
+ Strong communication, prioritization, and organizational abilities.
