Elementary Special Education Teacher – Phoenix, AZ

Position Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)

Pay Rate: $45–$50 per hour

Contract Duration: Remainder of the 2025–2026 School Year

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality educational services to students with special needs. This position focuses on supporting elementary-level learners in a resource setting, ensuring individualized instruction and collaboration with general education staff.

You will join a supportive team environment committed to student success through specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation.

Responsibilities

+ Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with special needs.

+ Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.

+ Collaborate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to support inclusion.

+ Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.

+ Participate in team meetings and contribute to program planning.

Caseload & Support

+ Caseload: Approximately 12 students or fewer.

+ Classroom Support: Typically 2 paraprofessionals per 12 students.

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).

+ Valid Arizona teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement.

+ At least one year of teaching experience (preferred).

+ Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements.

+ Current CPR certification and health clearances as applicable.

Preferred Certifications

+ Standard Elementary Teaching Certificate.

+ Standard Special Education Teaching Certificate.

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
