Entry-Level Civil/Structural Engineer (Overhead Transmission Lines)
This Opportunity
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP,is currently initiating a search for an **Entry-Level Civil/Structural Engineer (Overhead Transmission Lines)** for our **Fort Mill, North Carolina** office. Be involved in projects with our Power Delivery Carolina Line Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
+ The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions.
+ Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
+ Learn basic principles of Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering.
+ Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
+ Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
+ Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
+ Complete training on assigned tasks.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.
+ Demonstrated interest in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
+ Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
+ 0-1 years of experience
+ Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Minimum 2.75 Grade Point Average (GPA)
+ Ideal coursework includes structural analysis, concrete, steel, soils, foundations, and surveying.
+ Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for the successful completion of tasks.
+ Prior internship and/or related designing, drafting, or engineering experience is a plus
+ Students who have passed or are scheduled to take the FE/EIT exam will be strongly considered for this position
+ Familiarity with design, drafting, or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, and SharePoint is beneficial
+ Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.
+ Engineer In Training (EIT) registration is desired
