The Old Governor's Mansion within the Museum DIvision of the Secretary of State is seeking an Administrative Program Specialist B that is responsible for
independently performing various duties related to program development and management.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

+ Displaying Expertise: The ability to exhibit specialized skills or knowledge gained from experience or training
+ Driving Results: The ability to identify important goals and work to achieve them.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR
An advanced degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ This position will be the main point of contact for event rentals; answering clients' questions and managing the operational side of
the event.
+ Assists in the development and implementation of the marketing and public awareness campaign for the Old Governor’s
Mansion.
+ Administrative duties include creating marketing materials, maintaining OGM website, creating and implementing events that support exhibits and educational programs. Serves as the principal point of contact for OGM. Required to work evenings and weekends as needed.
+ Provides broad supervision for both event operation and historical services at the Old Governor's Mansion. Serving as the
Visitor Services Coordinator, this position will direct events/programs developed by the curator . Assist with planning and executing special events including political forums, guest speakers, educational and holiday events to promote the museum. Provide hands-on supervision for private events such as photo shoots, weddings, receptions, etc. Meet with individuals/entities renting the facility for events. Compose and edit OGM quarterly newsletter, invitations and e-blasts for events. Maintain OGM email list in Outlook and transfer to Constant Contact.
+ Create marketing materials to promote the Old Governor’s Mansion including materials to support exhibits and educational programs. Responsible for maintaining OGM website, Facebook and other social media. Responsible for maintaining regular contact with the media to promote OGM exhibits/events. Work with SOS media office on promoting OGM events across all forms of media. Assist in creating, promoting and implementing events and activities designed to increase admissions. Contact tour group operators to promote trips to OGM. Communicate with numerous city, state and private partnerships in association with the museum, ensuring that OGM is a partner in downtown events. Develop an advertising budget.
+ Serves as Volunteer Coordinator scheduling and recruiting volunteers. Assist as needed with weekend/night events including weddings and event rentals. Assist with management of the welcome desk.
