Central Louisiana State Hospital,located inPineville, Louisiana,is seeking applicants for a vacant position in ourSocial Services Departmentas a/anChaplain 3 WAE/Part-Timewho functionally supervises the Pastoral Care Division in a Facility and provides pastoral care to patients, clients, residents, inmates, etc. and their families through religious services, counseling services, rites and sacraments.
The Chaplain 3 WAE/Part-Timeplays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSH’s values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients. The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health program to ensure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in ministry or chaplaincy; OR
Certification received from Clinical Pastoral Education through the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (CASC) plus three years of experience in ministry or chaplaincy; OR
Certification by the Louisiana Chaplain's Association plus three years of experience in ministry or chaplaincy.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Applicants must be ordained, commissioned, licensed, or endorsed by the appropriate faith group or denominational authority at the time of appointment.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Monitor spiritual needs of patients. Make rounds on each service to speak with patients, establish a rapport and
become aware of, and address any individual spiritual needs as indicated. Schedule and conduct counseling sessions as
requested by the patient or staff or as referred by the treatment team as indicated by review of patient records. Serve as
liaison between patients and local church and/or pastor.
+ Provide formal workshop service and religious study. Compliance is demonstrated by documentation in records.
Conducts formal services for patients and staff. Coordinate, arrange for, and periodic monitoring of worship services
provided through volunteer services. Arrange and/or provide the non-ambulatory patient with the opportunity for
religious service.
+ Consult with Treatment Team. Attend treatment team meetings as necessary in regard to specific patient needs as
indicated by review of patient records. Available to discuss specific patient needs with treatment team or their
representative so that religious offerings are keyed to therapeutic needs of patients. Completes the pastoral assessment
on new patients through review of patient records.
+ Maintains a record of religious activities by written record. Meet as requested with the Social Service Department head
+ Participate in continuing education. Participate in orientation programs and other in-service educational offerings
as requested to inform patients, members of patient's family, and staff with a pamphlet describing this facility. Secure
and show religious films to patients and staff periodically. Seek out and attend conferences or programs which will
enhance incumbent's ability and depth of understanding in regard to the Chaplain's role.

Appointment Type: WAE (Part-time)
Compensation:This position has a pay range of $22.52 - $40.53 hourly. Pay will be based on experience.
