Purpose:
Located at UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, PA, we are a small but vitally important department that specializes in continuous cardiac monitoring of all medical/surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring. This non-clinical and sedentary role requires teamwork, effective communication skills, interdisciplinary collaboration, and attention to details with the ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
To help prepare for the role of telemetry monitor technician, training is provided on cardiac rhythms and associated interventions for experienced and novice team members.
