    Monday - Friday in office position full time

    The Workers Compensation Support Coordinator will assist the Nurse Case Manager to maintain an efficient patient flow through registration and initial appointment through discharge and Maximum Medical Improvement. Ensurestimely and efficient customer service to the patient and insurance company/nurse case manager.     Responsibilities

    + Triage and manage calls from patients/families/insurance companies/other facilities/adjusters/ nurse case managers/employers and attorneys

     

    Schedules patient appointments including obtaining adjuster authorization for treatment for NJ claims and confirming NY claims are open and active for treatment, completes case manager screen and documents all insurance information necessary. Assist with creating WC intake forms prior to appointments Ensure the appropriate work comp intake information is documented prior to the initial work comp visit to include date of injury, authorized body part, employer information Manages patient tracking ensuring that the adjuster/employer/nurse case manager is notified when appointments are missed or rescheduled Assist with creating invoices and obtaining authorization for DME, injections and procedures, scheduling and communicating financial information with billing team Assist with creating invoices for Need for Treatment Exams and communicate financial information with billing team Provide Need for Treatment reports and operative reports to the appropriate insurance personnel once completed Provide completed work comp documents and physician notes to nurse case managers/insurance companies/employers ensuring that jurisdictional requirements are met Confirm authorization for diagnostic testing is provided by insurance companies following up to provide additional information as indicated and to ensure appointments are scheduled after diagnostics/imaging to follow up with physicians Maintain thepatient registry to reflect current patients and to remove patients who are not current Work with attorneys to provide appropriate documents and to obtain treatment authorizations Creates electronic medical notes including general notes and telephone encounters as necessary Works as a liaison between the patient, provider and insurance carrier/nurse case manager Attends conferences and in-services as necessary to promote the workers compensation department Work to enhance processes to support department growth Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management for business needs

    Requirements

    Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship Must possess strong customer service skills Highly organized and ability to multi - task to meet deadlines Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent 3-5 years experience in a health care organziation with preferred experience in orthopedics Knowledge of workers compensation preferred
