+ Two weekdays (typically day shift)

+ Position Summary:The Diagnostic Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical level that requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. You will apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
+ Key Responsibilities:
+ Accurately identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol during procedures
+ Review patient history, assess physician orders, and apply departmental protocols for optimal imaging results
+ Document patient history in the electronic record as required
+ Administer oral and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy
+ Ensure proper coding, tracking, and archiving of exams in RIS and ISITE systems
+ Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols
+ Operate complex imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data
+ Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns

ducation: Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification of program completion with a scheduled graduation date.
+ Candidates hired prior to graduation will work under indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until degree verification.
+ Technologists cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtained.
Licensure & Certifications:
+ ARRT Registry Eligible as a Radiologic Technologist
+ Must obtain Radiography Registry within 6 months of hire (effective January 1, 2025).
+ Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, must obtain registry within 12 months of hire/transfer.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification (AHA standards including both didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire.
+ If working in a New York facility, certification from ARRT or NMTCB and licensure through the New York State Department of Health is required.
