    We are looking for a Specialty Assistant Underwriter to join our team!

    Summary:

    Provides support to Specialty Underwriting units by handling system and/or manual policy creation, system and/or manual endorsement creation, and other basic underwriting functions as assigned.

     

    A typical day will include the following:

     

    Communicates with appropriate colleagues about needs, changes or concerns regarding assigned accounts.

     

    Understands key components of common products in the insurance segment.

     

    Verify and validate billing information for processing into Billing System.

     

    Performs pre-analysis support for binders, policies, endorsements, and other incoming documents based upon predefined underwriting rules and/or guidelines.

     

    Works with and between departments for successful resolution of issues.

     

    Exercises template based Underwriting Authority (predefined risk selection criteria) for renewals and midterm change requests.

     

    Documents relevant business information by tracking and capturing information for endorsements, policy creation and policy issuance; and maintains the account and endorsement logs

     

    Order and track inspections

    Order and process audits

    Generates Broker correspondence in electronic format (i.e., e-mail) related to transaction processing and informational follow up requests using freeform letters, predefined or approved templates.

    o High School Diploma

    o Three years of related experience in the insurance industry preferred

    o Works under close supervision

    • Position can be located anywhere in the Central or Western Time Zone

    • CA Pay Range $55,000 - $65,000.

    • Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location.
