Position Summary
This position is responsible for developing, managing, and executing strategic communication initiatives that promote Kraus-Anderson’s brand and goals within the K-12 and Government markets. A key focus of this role includes leading marketing and communications efforts related to school and city referendums, levys, and bonds.. The manager will actively engage with clients, as well as internal and external audiences, to ensure consistent, effective messaging that strengthens relationships, enhances brand reputation, and supports organizational objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Content Creation and Client Management
+ Develop high-quality content for various channels, including press releases, newsletters, blogs, social media posts, email campaigns, and internal memos.
+ Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive communication and engagement plans that align with project goals, timelines, and communication objectives.
+ Ensure brand consistency across all communications materials.
+ Guide the development of KA’s project communication strategies before and after referendums, collaborating with internal teams to drive continuous improvement and growth.
+ Support referendum campaign by creating flyers and social media material during the information campaign
+ Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to clients, guiding public outreach, messaging, and best practices in community engagement.
+ Assists in proposal and interview process and strategy participates in office business development meetings
+ Build post referendum communications about KA project success for our clients
+ Participates in related trade associations and active in the local economic development community
+ Attends trade shows and educates potential clients on KA's construction-delivery models and our communication services
+ Develop strategic relationships with architects / engineers and other industry players
+ Works in collaboration with the K-12 Education and Government sector leadership to align with KA’s business development and communication strategies
Internal Communications
+ Manage coordination with marketing and communications staff to produce cohesive, high-quality public engagement materials that support project goals and reinforce key messages.
+ Provide strategic communication support to clients throughout all project phases, helping them sustain trust and transparency with their communities.
+ Maintain and strengthen client relationships, supporting business development efforts through proposal writing, presentations, and participation in client meetings.
+ Contribute to a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement by sharing insights, lessons learned, and innovative engagement practices.
Social Media and Digital Engagement
+ Write and distribute press releases, monitor media coverage, and create media kits.
+ Plan, develop, and execute social media campaigns to drive engagement and referendum awareness.
+ Monitor social media platforms for brand mentions, trends, and opportunities to engage. This may include text messaging, email blasts, managing social media pages, etc.
+ Analyze digital communication metrics and adjust strategies to improve reach and engagement.
Event Planning and Promotion
+ Lead the planning and facilitation of community meetings, listening sessions, focus groups, and stakeholder workshops.
+ Manage all event logistics, including scheduling, materials development, and coordination with internal and external partners.
+ Lead the collection, synthesis, and presentation of public feedback to guide project recommendations, reports, and strategic decision-making.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Associates degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or equivalent
+ 5+ years experience in a communications role or equivalent
+ Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office 365 – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
+ Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
+ Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
+ Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
+ Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Bachelors degree in communications, public relations, marketing or equivalent
+ Professional certifications in communications, PR, or digital marketing (e.g., APR, CMP) are a plus.
Other:
+ Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
+ Travel 50%

+ Frequently sits, stands and talks.
+ Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
+ Vision abilities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
+ Must work and climb on a jobsite to review or inspect work progress.
+ Ability to maneuver on ladders and scaffolding, walk through sand or mud, climb on and around vehicles and construction equipment .
**Salary Range:** $70,000 to $90,000 annually, plus auto allowance and discretionary incentive program.
Pay is based on many factors including but not limited to education, skill, experience, training, certifications, and other business needs.
