    The Manager of Strategic Sourcing will oversee the company’s end-to-end sourcing operations. The role involves strategy development, vendor negotiation, and the management of procurement activities to optimize costs and ensure the supply chain's efficiency. This role is accountable for developing and executing sourcing strategies, negotiating supplier agreements, managing vendor performance, and optimizing procurement processes across the organization. The Manager ensures initiatives roll up to the Sourcing Director's roadmap, allocates resources to meet operational objectives, and contributes to departmental planning by providing insights based on market conditions, supplier capabilities, and business.

    What you will be doing:

    + Lead the end-to-end sourcing operations for Staples Own Brands, developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies that deliver value and selection for our customers.

    + Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service-level agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and optimize costs, directly impacting the company's bottom line.

    + Manage procurement processes, coordinate resource allocation, and ensure compliance with quality and operational standards.

    + Monitor supplier performance, maintain strong vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sourcing effectiveness and reduce operational costs.

    + Collaborate across teams—including Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Product—to ensure products meet specifications, compliance requirements, and performance benchmarks.

    + Analyze market trends and industry insights to inform sourcing decisions, mitigate risks, and recommend innovative alternatives that support business growth and resilience.

    What You Bring to the Table:

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and offer sound business recommendations.

    + Demonstrated negotiation, persuasion, and vendor management expertise.

    + Proven ability to influence teams, motivate performance, and foster a collaborative work environment.

    + High initiative and a continuous improvement mindset, resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

    + Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple priorities under tight timelines.

    + Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to engage and influence at all organizational levels.

    + Proficiency in crafting effective presentations to drive alignment and buy-in for large-scale sourcing recommendations.

    What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:

    + Minimum of 7 years of experience in sourcing or procurement.

    + Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier contracts and managing supplier performance.

    + Proven track record of cost savings and sourcing process improvements.

    + Proficiency with procurement systems, supplier analytics, and ERP tools.

    What’s needed: Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience.

    + Experience in international sourcing and vendor management.

    + Advanced degree in a relevant field.

    + Professional certifications such as CPSM or CSCP.

The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.  ​_
