RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY:
• Working under the Manager, Information Management, supervises the performance of the Data Architect and Data Science staff and their ability to support internal and external clients and ensure that service levels are met or exceeded.
• Assists in the planning, implementation, and support of the technical infrastructure within the organization.
• Leads all aspects of the design, development, and deployment of data warehousing and analytic solutions, including supporting data models and metadata.
• Leads all aspects of the design, development, and deployment of machine learning and predictive analytics within the data warehouse, which includes the integration of algorithms into existing analytic solutions.
• Leads all aspects of the design, development, and deployment of natural language processing capabilities that leverage both rules-based and machine learning-based approaches and embeds capabilities within analytic applications.
• Responsible for managing the day-to-day functions, services, and activities of Information Management Data Architect and Data Science services.
• Contributes to clinical and operational performance improvement initiatives through activities such as data analysis and support, dashboard and metric development, and clinical disease cohort and registry building.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Information Technology (IT), data science, analytics, healthcare, epidemiology, statistics or related field; or four (4) years experience in IT or data science, demonstrating hands on independent contribution to database or business intelligence projects such as hand coded SQL queries, data modeling, report development may be substituted for the educational requirement.
• Graduate degree preferred.
B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• No certification and/or licensure requirement.
C. EXPERIENCE:
• In addition to the educational requirement, seven (7) years related experience including the following:
o Demonstrated application of information technology data and programming principles, theories, concepts, and best practices (e.g. requirements documentation, source code control, change management, promotions, segregation of duties).
o Advanced tenants of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) principles, processes, technologies and tools including management, reporting and visualization of data.
o Advanced database object development, beyond tables and views, such as stored procedures, user defined functions, check constraints, clustered indices, tuning and optimization.
o Implementation, and optimization of machine learning and predictive modeling algorithms, and complex data analysis.
• One (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.
• Strong sense of customer service to consistently and effectively address business and clinical partners’ needs.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities and direction in projects and core work.
• Enjoys participating in a collaborative work environment partnering with colleagues inside and outside of own department.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Experience working with healthcare data systems, understanding of clinical operational measures, including experience with Electronic Medical/Health Record Systems (EMR/EHR) and data (Epic/Clarity ideally).
• Education/understanding of analytics and statistics.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server - Integration Services (SSIS), Transact SQL (T-SQL), Reporting Services (SSRS), and Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Familiarity with development methodologies including the AGILE development approaches.
• Experience with Big Data structures, platforms, programming languages such as R, Hadoop, Hive, NoSql, Cloudera, MongoDB, predictive analytics, machine learning.
