    Job Description

    Position Summary:

    This is a Per Diem position for the Other Licensed Practitioner (OLP) provider who play a key role within the Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) framework. This position provides specialized, community based clinical services to youth ages 5 through 21 and their families. The Per Diem OLP is responsible for carrying a **minimum caseload of five youth** and **may not exceed nineteen payable hours per week** .

     

    Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, direct psychotherapy, and the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans. Services may include both individual and family therapy, tailored to each youth’s unique needs and circumstances. The OLP collaborates closely with caregivers, referring providers, and community supports to promote clinical progress, enhance functioning, and ensure the provision of effective, strengths based care in the home and community.

    Essential Accountabilities

    1. Clinical Expertise: Demonstrates a solid understanding of childhood psychiatric disorders, including development, clinical presentation, pathology, trauma impacts, and the effects on social and occupational functioning.

    2. Treatment Modalities **:** Uses evidence-based interventions for childhood mental health disorders and remains open to ongoing professional development and training.

    3. System of Care Knowledge: Maintains a working knowledge of the children’s mental health system of care, Office of Mental Health (OMH) and available community resources.

    4. Assessment & Planning **:** Completes initial and ongoing assessments, establishes diagnoses, identifies strengths and needs, and develops detailed, individualized treatment plans.

    5. Therapeutic Services: Provides age-appropriate individual and family psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches.

    6. Home & Community Integration: Implements strategies that support cognitive, behavioral, and emotional self-regulation across home, school, and community settings.

    7. Crisis Management: Develops safety and alert plans, provides crisis prevention and post-crisis debriefing, and addresses family dynamics to reduce future crises.

    8. Family Engagement: Works closely with families and natural supports to reinforce treatment goals and create a supportive environment.

    9. Education & Skills Training: Offers psychoeducation, parenting skills training, and strategies to strengthen child–family relationships.

    10. Cultural Competence: Respects and incorporates cultural norms and strengths, maintaining a non-judgmental, inclusive approach.

    11. Compliance & Documentation: Maintains accurate, timely records in the Electronic Health Record (Avatar) and ensures adherence to all regulatory standards.

    12. Collaboration & Communication: Builds collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and participates in CFTSS team meetings and training.

    13. Supervision & Growth: Engages in regular supervision and professional development to enhance clinical skills.

    14. Policy Adherence: Follows all organizational policies, including those related to HR, time management, and operational procedures

    15. Complete the _Mandated Reporter Training_

    16. Adhere to all confidentiality laws and guidelines.

    17. Track all paperwork due dates and submit by assigned deadlines.

    18. Recognize and report suspected and known child abuse.

    19. Report any potential youth high risk behaviors/concerns to supervisor.

    20. Maintain awareness of any incident reporting guidelines.

    21. Maintain required Direct Service Units.

    22. Schedule client visits and monitor weekly Direct Service Units

    23. Participate in supervisions as scheduled.

    24. Submit weekly schedule to Supervisor (any changes to schedule must be reported to Supervisor as they occur).

    25. Utilize Paycom to indicate accurate hours worked.

    26. Track and submit mileage.

    27. Participate in Division-wide trainings, staff events and program meeting.

    28. Attend workshops, conferences, OMH trainings, etc.

    29. Transport youth with personal vehicle, as needed.

    30. Responsible for having access to a personal vehicle throughout the course of the work day.

    31. Submission of auto insurance policy before expiration date.

    32. Adhere to protocols of agency Safety Policy.

    33. Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    + Licensed Mental Health Professional (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, or equivalent).

    + Minimum of one year of experience working with children diagnosed with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) and their families.

    + Valid New York State driver’s license with a clean record, and reliable, insured transportation.
