VDC Manager II
Increase Building Information Modeling (BIM)/Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) service standard training and adoption regionally. Manage and implement BIM/VDC services on multiple projects. Train project staff on current BIM/VDC processes and services. Market BIM/VDC services internally and externally. Present BIM/VDC projects and services in BIM/VDC organizations and forums. Stay current on what is being marketed/executed by competitors in regional markets. Creates project specific BIM Project Execution Plans (BEPs). Identify BIM/VDC requirements in technical specifications. Create BIM/VDC project specific contract language for bidding and buyout. Create and execute BIM/VDC consultant agreements. Manage model authoring and revisions, verifying model quality and accuracy. Create custom model components and families. Manage all model authoring service providers and subtrades. Manage model revisions, versioning, exchange, and as-builts. Create and manage 4D project schedules on multiple projects. Lead and manage BIM/VDC coordination effort on multiple projects. Create project specific BIM/VDC coordination plans and schedules. Support and train BIM/VDC coordination team. Select BIM/VDC file sharing software for model exchanges. Creates and distributes BIM/VDC coordination documentation to the field. Manage and coordinate model turnover at project completion if required. Lead and manage the production of dimensioned drawings for field use. Lead and manage BIM to field as-built verification process. Manage the validation of models for model-based quantity takeoff. Create model-based quantity surveys for estimate verification. Model components as needed for accurate quantity takeoff. Participate in development of 5D Estimating standards and process. Define and create a Facilities Management (FM) implementation strategy based on Owner’s needs and future goals. Train Owner’s FM staff on implementation of FM software and workflows, providing support to Owner’s FM staff after project completion.
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 2 years of experience working with Building Information Modeling (BIM)/Virtual Design and Construction (VDC). Experience must include training project staff on current BIM/VDC processes and services; Marketing BIM/VDC services internally and externally; Presenting BIM/VDC projects and services in BIM/VDC organizations and forums; Creating project specific BIM Project Execution Plans (BEPs); Creating and managing 4D project schedules; Understanding and implementing Facilities Management (FM) requirements by Owner; and providing support after project completion.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 5 years of experience working with Building Information Modeling (BIM)/Virtual Design and Construction (VDC). Experience must include training project staff on current BIM/VDC processes and services; Marketing BIM/VDC services internally and externally; Presenting BIM/VDC projects and services in BIM/VDC organizations and forums; Creating project specific BIM Project Execution Plans (BEPs); Creating and managing 4D project schedules; Understanding and implementing Facilities Management (FM) requirements by Owner; and providing support after project completion.
