DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
As the region's only Level I Trauma center, Harborview Medical Center (HMC) is well known for innovations and excellence in trauma care and its centers of emphasis: Trauma, Burn, Neurosciences, AIDS/STD, Center for Advanced Reconstruction and Rehabilitation (CARER), and mentally-and medically- vulnerable populations.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The Facilities CSS IT Systems Administrator reports to the CSS IT and AV Manager and works directly with Harborview departmental staff to support and enhance non-clinical IT systems used throughout Harborview Medical Center. This person is a system administrator for servers and client applications, a training and support resource for end-users, and business analyst/consulting resource for departmental managers. This individual is a member of a small team that supports a broad array of systems including building access control, security video, HVAC, point of sale, telephone systems, parking, and many others. Technical acumen, problem solving skills, flexibility in the face of changing priorities, and impeccable customer service are the hallmarks of the successful candidate.
REQUIREMENTS
+ Advanced skill in Windows Server system administration to secure public-facing servers, configure and manage Windows networking and firewall, troubleshoot and resolve performance, connectivity, and compatibility issues, and automate processes using various scripting tools.
+ Experience with Windows 7 and Windows 10 systems to be able to deploy client applications, diagnose 32-bit/64-bit compatibility issues, create/recreate user profiles, automate functions in batch, VBScript, and/or PowerShell, and identify Active Directory related issues.
+ Experience with MS SQL Server system administration strong enough to configure automated database backups, restore databases, and troubleshoot general SQL Server issues.
+ Working knowledge of IP networking to be able to implement secure server access in public IP space, identify network performance and security issues using common diagnostic utilities, configure and test firewall appliances, and troubleshoot firewall-related connectivity issues.
+ Exemplary problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Experience in a departmental or line-of-business IT unit
+ Experience supporting security systems such as IP cameras and recorders, access control, or alarms
+ Experience supporting or scripting phone call automation systems
+ Experience supporting cloud-based services and applications
+ Experience with HIPAA, FERPA, PCI-DSS, or similar data security regulations
